BECKY BROOME

Packaging design, Illustration

Becky Broome is an online etched glass and barware company. I created them a bespoke illustration inspired by their glassware that I then used as a repeating pattern for their gift packaging.

"We worked with Maddy on our gift packaging and company leaflets. Throughout the project, nothing was too much trouble for Maddy. Maddy created designs and then refined them to our specific requirements with ease. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending Maddy, she is very easy to work with and produces beautiful work."

FAZER

Concept Packaging design, Illustration, Branding

‘Nestled in the corner of northern Europe its fairy tale forests and glittering blue lakes form the backdrop for Fazer’s motherland. The history and origins of Fazer are closely intertwined with its northern roots.’

The inspiration for the packaging comes from Finland’s natural landscapes. Each pack references a different environment that makes the country unique.

(Please note, this was a hypothetical student project done at university and is in no way associated with Fazer as a brand)

ORO VERDE

Packaging design, Brand creation & naming

My entry into the Studio Minerva student competition 2017/18.
To brand & package an Italian product inspired by the regions affected by the earthquakes in central Italy in 2017. The product would be sold in order to raise money and awareness towards the cause.

Coffee culture has been an integral part of Italian society since the 17th century. As Italy’s national drink it is widely consumed and brings people together. Even in the chaos and destruction caused by the earthquakes, the towns did not stop. With people continuing to fill up café’s and restaurants.

Each of Italy’s 20 regions boasts its own unique coffee culture. In Le Marche (one of the regions most affected by the earthquakes of January 2017), they enjoy a caffè anisette for an anise-flavoured espresso. The people of the region hold it of great importance for daily life and for health, coining it “Green gold” or “Oro Verde.”

The philosopher Democritus noted that aniseed was a cure for melancholy. Through sales of this coffee we aim to raise money towards helping those devastated by the earthquakes in central Italy.

BLUE WHALE

Packaging design, Illustration, Brand naming & creation

This was a project done whilst on a placement for a packaging concept for 'Blue Whale,' a strong porter beer.
Porter beer originates from early 18th century London amongst the working classes. This is also where the drink gets its name as it was popular among London's river and market porters. The design has been inspired by the rich history of the beer which is reflected in the illustration styling.

This beer aims to bring what was once a victorian working class beer into the modern premium beer market.
